Great News for Families and Children with Autism in KY!

April 14, 2010

Yesterday, Governor Beshear signed into legislation HB 159 which requires insurance companies to cover treatment of autism spectrum disorders! For families of individuals with autism, this bill is a huge victory! Some highlights of the bill include: - Establishing a Kentucky Applied Behavior Analysis Licensure Board - Requiring large group benefits to cover diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders for individuals in annual amounts ranging from $12,000 to $50,000 depending on the age of the individual- Requiring small group benefits and individual plans to cover specific areas in the amount of $1,000 monthly Basically, we celebrate this because it means that children with autism in the state of Kentucky can have access to the vital services they need to help them succeed. So now we're asking for feedback from you, our constituents, friends, and family: With the passage of this new bill, how do you hope to see Wendell Foster's Campus respond?
